U-Bahnen in Deutschland (Metros in Germany)

This book is a new edition of a similar publication by Robert Schwandl some 12 years ago, however, with a quite different layout. It covers all German system which have any significant share of totally independent rail track right of way. Hence, not only the „classical“ metros in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Nürnberg are included, but also cities like Dortmund, Hannover, Bielefeld, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Essen, Mülheim, Cologne, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Bochum and even the famous Wuppertal monorail – which of course runs entirely indepent from any road traffic interferences! The author calls them „those networks which at their station entrances boast a white U on a blue background“. The maps principally cover the „U-sections“ of each network.

The quality of text, photos and for sure of the maps is excellent – as with other books of the editorial. A clear „must buy“ for travellers to and within Germany.
