Karsan acquires a 50% share of French HCI

The Turkish bus and coach builder Karsan officially announced the purchase of a 50% share of French HCI (Hervouet Corporate Industry). HCI will be responsible for sales & marketing of the Karsan buses in France. Karsan will actively participate in tender processes in France – several operators have already shown interest especially in the ebus models „Jest electric“ (6 meters long) and „Atak electric“ (8 meters).

Only recently Karsan had acuired a 70% stake in the Italian manufacturer „Industria Italiana Autobus“ (IIA – previously „Breda-Menarinibus“). IIA has just started to supply a large number of new 12- and 18-meter buses to ATAC Rome which are produced in Karsan’s Turkish factories.
